Microwave Applications for Metallized Plastics
BARRIER-MET® SUSCEPTOR POLYESTER
Our vacuum metallized films are also used for susceptors in microwave packaging. This is a highly controlled metal deposition on a thermally stable substrate (PET) that alters the usual microwave discharge by focusing its radiant energy. BARRIER-MET® Susceptor Polyester provides the unique cooking properties required by the microwave industry.
The optical densities required to properly and safely cook the food within the package are very critical with tolerances of +/- .03 across the web width. Our state of the art vacuum chambers are capable of easily meeting this tight requirement by accurately measuring the optical density throughout the roll providing a high quality product.
